Heated swimming pool

During the summer season, we have a heated swimming pool and a children’s playground with a trampoline, among other things.

For those who wish to take a more exhilarating dip, the Gudbrandsdalslågen River winds right past us.

There are great hiking opportunities in sheltered forests close by.

Musk Ox Safari

Experience the king of Dovrefjell - the primeval musk ox! There are several expert local guides who are happy to take you on a trip into the mountains. Here, you can meet the musk ox - at a safe distance!

Cycle the Tour de Dovre

There are many great cycling opportunities in Dovre! From Toftemo, there is a rather steep hill to climb up to Grimsdalsvegen, but in return you will be rewarded with what is perhaps Norway’s most beautiful alpine pasture valley.

Feel free to ask us about trip advice, or you can find more information about bike trips in the area at Tourdedovre.no.

We also offer bike rental, both regular and electric.

Summit trips and mountain hiking

Toftemo is just a short drive from many starting points where you can reach summits of up to 2000 meters: Snøhetta, Besseggen, Rondane, Jotunheimen.

The closest is the Grimsdalen valley between the Rondane and Dovre National Parks. These areas also offer great hiking opportunities in easier mountain terrain.

Fishing

Fishing in the Lågen River and mountain lakes!

The Gudbrandsdalslågen River flows right past Toftemo, and offers good and exciting fishing. Further south is the fly fishing zone at Selsvollen, and many fly fishers enjoy Lesjaleira which lies further west.

Dovre and Lesja also offer exciting fishing in idyllic mountain lakes.

Mountains and nature

Located in the heart of the country, Dovre offers beautiful and wild mountains on all sides. Only 20 minutes drive by car and you find yourself in the middle of a mountain wilderness. Here, you can enjoy Dovrefjell, Rondane and Jotunheimen, either on foot, by bike, on skis, or on horseback.
